Prin' La Lá
A space odyssey. Special, childlike and perverse.
Prin' La Lá is a trio from Cordoba that, under the wing of Fernando Vacas, is dedicated to exploring pop where 'Vainica Doble' left off.
The protagonists are three girls that started out with Prin' La Lá at the age of six, twelve and fourteen. In love with their three cats, their rabbit, their three horses and their six St. Bernard dogs, these girls fill their leisure hours watching films, listening to Simon & Garfunkel, singing in a choir and taking their first steps as composers. Their love for the series “Bewitched”, for the books by Edward Gorey and the old Walt Disney films (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins or Fantasy), makes them enter a gloomy magical dimension, where a surprising world is created and in which dreams rule.

Faithful to their style - “pop with experimental influences of electronic, psychedelic and 60's music,” as Vacas defines it-, the group began working on this album in 2010, after closing a three-year tour with its first album “Esto es…Prin’ La Lá” (2007). “I wanted to do a conceptual work, in which Isabel, Blanca and Macarena were the protagonists and in which they told their day to day. I remember sitting at home at work when Isa came up with the idea of abduction and we found it very illustrative of what we wanted to do. It was a David Bowie record that uncovered the idea, ”says Vacas.

Macarena, Blanquita and Isabel are inspired by Antonio y Carmen, Canterbury and California in the 60’s to create psychedelic pop where the innocence of childhood is clouded by the shadow of a strange dream. Produced with psychogenic elegance by Fernando Vacas, the three little geniuses, showing great sensitivity, go from tributes to home and Panero (the poet), to the use of children's classics to shape a new universe, wickedly naive and just as fascinating.

Prin’ La Lá - “Navidades La Lá” - 2003
The dreams of Fernando Vacas are materialized in ”Navidades La Lá”, a document that gathers the first recordings of his most ambitious alter ego. The first Prin' La Lá -Isabel, María and Macarena- had their opportunity to show that they were up to the expectations that their cousin put on them, and that later on have been confirmed -in their new formation- as one of the great revelations of contemporary national pop.
